Located in the seaside town of Lytham, Tempo is an intimate wine bar specialising in Italian wines, situated above a busy Italian restaurant. We were brought on board to design a stylish, atmospheric space that felt distinct from its downstairs counterpart—something refined yet inviting, with just the right amount of edge to draw people in.

Working within a fixed floorplate, the brief called for a cleverly planned layout that could accommodate a generous bar, lounging zone, three seating areas, a compact kitchen for small plates, and guest restrooms—without ever compromising on flow or ambience. Every inch of the space needed to work hard, while still allowing the interiors to breathe.

Our design draws from the elegance of Italian culture with a modern twist—plush velvets, rich tones, warm metallics and custom details come together to create a setting that feels both curated and relaxed. We collaborated closely with the Italian owners and branding team to ensure the identity of Tempo was not just cohesive, but completely immersive—right through from the interiors to the wine list.

The result is a distinctive venue with a strong sense of place; a wine bar that feels effortlessly stylish, perfectly proportioned and designed to be enjoyed.
