Tucked into the countryside near Longridge, this one-bedroom new-build was designed to be a quiet retreat for two — contemporary in form, and deeply connected to its rural setting.

Our approach as a studio is always rooted in respect for the architecture. Here, we wanted the interiors to sit in quiet dialogue with the building’s clean, linear structure. The brief was for a sleek, minimal space that felt calm and restorative — somewhere to switch off and slow down.

We worked with a restrained, tonal palette and focused on natural textures — lime plaster, warm oak, terrazzo, and tactile linens — allowing the materials to speak for themselves. Subtle detailing, soft curves, and thoughtful lighting all contribute to a sense of stillness and space.

The result is a gentle, grounded interior that complements the building’s form and offers a true escape from the everyday.
