Bay Tree is a characterful stone cottage in the heart of Windermere, thoughtfully reimagined as a holiday let for overseas clients. The property was tired and dated, and we were appointed to oversee both the interior design and project management from start to finish.

Taking cues from the Lake District landscape, the design pairs traditional elements with a quiet, contemporary sensibility. Soft green panelling, herringbone oak floors, and natural textures bring warmth and depth throughout. Brass details, handmade tiles and layered lighting add a refined finish, while considered joinery ensures the cottage functions comfortably as a short-stay home.

The result is a calm, grounded space that feels rooted in its setting — a fresh take on the traditional Lakeland cottage.
